Knowledge has the power to change lives. Whether you're a professional, volunteer, organisation, or community group, our training programmes are designed to increase awareness, build confidence, and provide practical skills that empower individuals to recognise, respond to, and support others effectively.
At Healing Return, training is about more than delivering information. It is about creating engaging, supportive learning experiences that encourage understanding, inspire confidence, and equip people with the knowledge to make a positive difference in their workplaces, communities, and everyday lives.
Each training programme is tailored to meet the needs of your organisation or group, ensuring the content is relevant, practical, and meaningful.
Our Domestic Abuse Awareness Training provides professionals, organisations, volunteers, and community groups with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to recognise, respond to, and support individuals affected by domestic abuse. The training explores what domestic abuse is, including the different forms of abuse such as physical, emotional, psychological, sexual, financial, coercive and controlling behaviour, and digital abuse. Participants will gain an understanding of the impact domestic abuse has on adults, children, families, and communities, while exploring the links between housing and domestic abuse, including homelessness, safe accommodation, housing rights, and the barriers many survivors face when trying to leave abusive relationships.
The programme also examines the lasting effects of trauma and introduces the principles of trauma-informed practice, helping participants understand how trauma influences behaviour, decision-making, and recovery. Through realistic case studies, group discussions, and reflective practice, participants will have the opportunity to apply their learning to real-life situations, explore professional responses, and reflect on their own attitudes, values, and practice. By the end of the training, participants will feel more confident in recognising the signs of domestic abuse, responding safely and appropriately, making effective referrals, and contributing to safer, more supportive environments for those experiencing abuse.
Reflective Practice provides professionals, managers, and teams with a structured, supportive space to pause, reflect, and develop greater self-awareness in their professional roles. In fast-paced and emotionally demanding workplaces, taking time to reflect enhances decision-making, strengthens professional relationships, improves emotional intelligence, and promotes healthier ways of working.
At Healing Return, our Reflective Practice sessions encourage individuals and teams to step back from the pressures of day-to-day work, explore their experiences and gain fresh perspectives that support both personal wellbeing and professional effectiveness. The sessions foster open discussion, curiosity, and continuous learning while helping participants build confidence, resilience and self-awareness.
Whether delivered to managers, leadership teams, frontline practitioners, or organisations, Reflective Practice creates opportunities to learn from experiences, strengthen professional practice and develop healthier workplace cultures.
" I will definitly introduce the Reflective Practice program in my work place. Women are the ones who over compensate and push themselves to help others and not take care or stay on target.... I felt it was very well presented, inclusive, interactive and paced well" -Sherri
" A great impact not only with the group I support, but in my personal life, family, etc. " - Chan
